1 tea ball Strainer
1 grater
1 Kettle
1 kitchen scale
1 Knife
1 Cup
- 20 grams fresh ginger grated
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp lemon optional
- 2 tbsp honey optional
Cut 20 grams of fresh ginger. I like strong tastes. You can also use 15 grams or even 10 grams..
Take the grater and use the medium grating side to grate the ginger
Grate the ginger in a small plate or on your cutting board.
Take the ball strainer and put the grated ginger inside
Fill the ball strainer with as much minced ginger as you like. I put all 20 grams.
Fill your cup with water.
And pour the water inside the kettle. Do this twice as we're preparing two ginger teas. Turn the kettle on and wait for the water to boil.
Add the strainer with the grated ginger in the cup and fill the cup with the boiling water. Do the same for the second cup of ginger tea as well.
Your ginger tea is ready. Feel free to add some honey in the end to make it a bit sweeter.. If you're vegan, maple syrup will do as well.
- You can buy a strainer like the one I use in the tutorial here.
- You can add lemon, turmeric, cinnamon, honey and maple syrup to the tea - whatever you like.
- Some people like strong flavours (like me), so I tend to keep my ginger in the
- You can also cut the ginger into small pieces instead of grating it.
- Some people prefer to just "throw" the ginger in their cup and then pour the boiling water over it.
- If you don't want the hassle of grating, and don't mind the freshness factor, you can buy pre-grated ginger.
- You can also buy bags of grated ginger.
