Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Fork or whisk
  • 1 Small cake pan
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana (mashed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (ensure it's free from xylitol and other nasty stuff, which is toxic to dogs)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a small cake pan.
  • In a bowl, mash the ripe banana.
  • Add the egg and peanut butter, and mix well until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the cake pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the center is firm.

Notes

  • Always ensure the peanut butter used is xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs. If you want a recommendation, Crazy Richard's 100% All-Natural Creamy Peanut Butter is a good choice.
  • Let the cake cool completely before serving to avoid burning your dog's mouth.
  • This cake can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If you don't have an airtight container, consider buying this one.
  • For special occasions, you can top the cake with a dog-safe frosting made from plain Greek yogurt.
  • Consult with your veterinarian before introducing new foods to your dog's diet, especially if your dog has any health concerns or dietary restrictions.
